How I work
I am a fully qualified Integrative Relational Counsellor.
This means that I draw upon a variety of skills and approaches depending on the needs of the client. I also have experience in Somatic and mind/body approaches, mindfulness, self compassion and Brainspotting therapy.
Developing a trusting relationship and being aware of what happens between us is core to effective therapy. I can work to understand the situation that you need support with and look at how this is impacting your life. We can work together to help identify patterns and themes of your view of the world and yourself in it to help you recognise your strengths and talents.
Counselling can improve your self-awareness and insight and in doing so this will help you to feel differently about yourself and life. Giving you the space to make decisions differently about the way you may respond to life challenges and changes and improve communication with those close to you.
Counselling can be a positive way to explore a range of emotional issues and challenges including:
⦁ Anxiety and panic attacks
⦁ Bereavement
⦁ Depression
⦁ Low self-confidence and self-esteem
⦁ Relationship difficulties
I work both short term seeing people from 6-12 sessions or more open ended work. This is something that we can discuss and decide upon what is best for you.Your counselling is tailored to help you work through the situation that brings you.
I offer both daytime and evening sessions during the week.
In an initial session I will be able to assess the support I can offer you, this is also a time for you to see if you feel it is right for you.
Each session will last 50 minutes and will be on the same day each week.
If you would like to contact me send me an email with your details and we can have an initial conversation over the phone.
